The immediacy of Heli’s search to reach and
hold on to the unspoken moment, a moment or two, lends us the capacity to look
twice at the fleeting once. Her sculptures are familiar in the way we know
something without having learned it. Each piece an invitation from a vision
and belief of her role as medium between the inner and the outer realm,
believing there is no disparity. Heli’s exquisitely imprecise forms move, as
if in metamorphoses, through layers of ancestor skin to speak to us, from
their soul, mind, and heart.
