PBR A repertory of artists in a repertory of plays... Bringing healing to the community Poetry to the drama Repertory theater |
The Palm Beach Repertory Theater presents: Gleaning Laughter, Gleaning Light. Acclaimed actor and writer John Arndt performs his autobiographical journey through poetry and wheelchairs, the insane and absurd, the beautiful and sublime. . .You'll never leave your chair, nor does Mr. Arndt, not since the accident that changed his art forever. . . Mr. Arndt has just been selected as a member of the Approved Artist Roster at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. where he will be performing later this year. Gleaning Laughter, Gleaning Light has also been overwhelmingly received by audiences at the Jean Cocteau Repertory in New York City and throughout South Florida. Don't miss this opportunity to witness a rare thing in the theater or in life, a man overcoming the odds and singing to the stars. A celebration of all that is good in us. Acclaim for Mr. Arndt. . . "There are worthy performances. . .in lesser roles by John Arndt" Mel Gussow; New York Times Reviewing King John "On opening night, John Arndt's (Tyrone's) entrance gave Dunlop's production a theatrical shot in the arm. . .Arndt possesses another quality which works in a way previous interpretations have not. In a word, sexuality." Donna Pizzi; Portland Maine Press Herald Reviewing Moon For The Misbegotten "Arndt masterfully creates an atmosphere thick with tension, mystery and foreboding in his gripping drama. . ." Sandy Cullen; Harrisburg (PA) Patriot News Reviewing Mr. Arndt's play Winterstorm |

"Flamingo Park Studios are a loose affiliation of poets and painters, sculptors and potters, film buffs and art students who have turned them into a place to work, play and create. Informally, they're the Unarmed Underground Art Center" Ron Hays in the Palm Beach Post Flamingo Park Studios "fills a specific niche that almost every developing arts community has at one level or another. It's a little incubator, a place where developing artists can have a dialogue with other artists and afford to have studio space. It's not the mainstream, but I do think it's a colorful and valid part of the larger scope of an arts community" David Edgar: Former executive director, The Armory Art Center |
